“Clothing is not just meant for collecting. It is meant to be worn.”
"I am not designing clothes, I am designing people"
With over half a decade’s worth of research and involvement in the fashion industry, it is no wonder Yuto Akaboshi is one of the most up and coming fashion designers, drawing a versatile clientele that also includes cosplayers and entertainment professionals.
Having both parents involved in the fashion industry since he was a child, developing a passion and creativity for design was only natural for Yuto Akaboshi. He then moved to LA after graduating from a university in Tokyo where he would go on to pursue his dreams as a designer and stylist.
Besides drawing inspiration from his heroes, Yuto Akaboshi is a firm believer of i shoku ju; the japanese belief that the bare necessities of life are clothing (衣-i), food (食-shoku), and shelter (住-ju). Another focus with his designs is in creating clothing specific to each client; bringing out the particular style of that individual. This mentality brings out a uniqueness in his designs that are not only innovative, but also practical.
Yuto Akaboshi is a fashion designer with a sense of realism in creating custom clothes that are not just for wearing, but for living. His designs have been worn by dancers, models, and cosplayers on international television, conventions, and expos.
